Do you qualify for a Garage Conversion or Carport/Porch Enclosure Permit?
The existing garage, carport, or porch must be legally established before converting to an interior space and must meet the additional following requirements:
The conversion or enclosure. . .
- Will not change the use of the property (for example, from single-family to two-family residential); and
- Will not modify the building footprint or building height; and
- Must use the existing roof/covering (if a new roof is required, project is considered an Addition)
If the scope of work does not qualify, you may apply for a Residential New Construction and Addition Permit.
